    Press Release
    For Immediate Dissemination

03 June 2010, Mumbai: Quantum Mutual Fund, India's 1st direct to investor mutual fund recently announced a reduced expense ratio for their Quantum Long Term Equity Fund.

Beginning June 1, 2010 the Quantum Long Term Equity Fund’s expense ratio has been reduced from 2.05% to 1.5%.
“Quantum Mutual Fund has always aimed to enhance investor benefit, by adopting a direct to investor approach. The reduction in the expense ratio of our flagship product will ensure better returns to investors, with more of their subscription money actually getting invested,” said Jimmy A Patel, Chief Executive Officer, Quantum Mutual Fund.

Commenting on the need to keep investor benefit at the forefront, Ajit Dayal, Director, Quantum Mutual Fund, said, “The Quantum Long Term Equity Fund endeavors to focus on a disciplined and structured investment process that follows the "value” style of investing which, we believe, offer investors sustainable long-term returns with sensible risks.

“The Quantum philosophy is clear: we will always work for the benefit of the investors and focus on keeping costs low. There will never be any compromise on that. We are the smallest mutual fund in terms of Assets under Management and, yet, our performance numbers have been fairly consistent: We tend to be ranked in the Top 25% of our peer group for many time periods. I am shocked to see that equity funds with assets under management of thousands of crores of rupees have expense ratios that are higher than our expense ratio. Mutual funds with larger assets should have lower expense ratios – that is the benefit of operational leverage: spreading your fixed costs over a larger pool of fund assets. But that is clearly not the case. It would be interesting to see how much of those expenses are payments made to distributors – payments made from the pockets of the investors. Quantum Mutual Fund’s commitment is to help you invest your savings in low-cost, sensible products. This is evident from our simple and easy-to-understand mutual fund products which you can buy directly on our website or on the stock exchange. I hope you will walk with us along the Path to Profit!”

Quantum Mutual Fund products are available on the mutual fund trading platforms (NSE MFSS and BSE StAR MF) and, to add to your convenience, there are application collection points at 212 Karvy centres across the country. Investors can also transact online www.QuantumAMC.com.

Quantum's another wonderful initiative and commitment towards investors interest and money. No SEBI's regulation was required for Quantum to announce the no load concept to indian investor and once again Quantum is leading the way in another initiative towards the expense ratio and I am sure that SEBI will make it as a regulation for all fund house soon and if that happens Quantum should be credited for that.

I am personally proud to be an investor in QLTEF and also to be asscociated with an Ethical fund House. Keep up you good work as usual.

not only did you talk the talk, you also walked the walk...
it would be interesting to do a survey of the actual expense ratio v/s SEBI mandated max expense ratio for all these mega funds - operational leverage be damned!!!

Quantum MF has always kept unit holders' interests at the forefront.  This latest move of expense ratio cut in QLTEF is another testimony.  If it is not, what else it can be?

I'm proud of being an investor in Quantum Long Term Equity Fund (and Liquid Fund), right from the NFO stage.  I  have no second thoughts in claiming QLTEF as the best equity fund in India.

I like the Quantum way! This is really a great news for investors. It encourages me to increase allocation to QTLEF in my MF portfolio. You must start highlighting it in promos.

I was planning to write to you to walk the talk.  For a long time you have been claming to be cheap, yet your expense ratio was on the higher side.  Now I no longer need to spend time writing a cribbing email.  I will use that time to plan my first investment in QLTEF.  I have been waiting for a long time for your expense ratio to come down.  But please don't stop here.  I know and you know that it can come down further as your AUM grows.

Thank you once again for taking the lead in cutting the expense, even while being small in size and  yet performing outstandingly well . I hope other funds, who have thousands of crores of investor money, but still royally charging higher expenses and delivering woefully poor performance. I am an investor in your fund through a daily SIP for the past one year. While I plan to continue this daily SIP for as long as I can, my regret is that I should have started a bit early. Thank you once again for showing the way for others in the industry.
